Biography
I like to think I was born and raised in two Americas as my life has been split between the two continents and my work profoundly influenced by both. I was born in New York City, brought up in New Jersey, and went to a private high school and college in the northeast. Marriage to a Colombian man led me to a whole new world. I lived 21 years in Colombia, South America where I had my son and daughter and launched my thirty-year career in international education and school administration. While there, I had the opportunity to serve an indigenous community- the Wayuu in the Guajira region and make many friendships with rural and indigenous people who inspired me with the wisdom of those who live close to nature and to God. They approach life as a spiritual journey. In my own journey, I have been guided by the spiritual teachings of the Baha’i Faith which continually inspire me in the path of my path of learning, transformation and connection, and service in bonds of love with others.
After leaving Colombia, I worked for two years in Guatemala, and in my last post before retirement serving eighteen years as the Executive Director of School of the Nations in Brasilia, Brazil.
Now blessed with four precious grandchildren and time to dive into a deep personal passion: writing! I am writing poems and working on the sequel to my fantasy debut novel: Laela and the Moonline.
