Barbara Sirotkin, or “Señora,” as she is known among her students and colleagues at school, holds a Masters degree in Spanish literature from the University of Pennsylvania and has taught the Spanish language for over thirty years. After moving from New York, where she had been practicing law, she moved with her family to Vermont, and is currently teaching at the Mascoma Valley Regional High School in New Hampshire. She has taught both in public and in private schools, among them the Wellesley Junior High School in Wellesley, Massachusetts, the Riverside Middle School in Springfield, Vermont and the Spence School in New York City. She has traveled to Guatemala, Paraguay, Mexico and Puerto Rico, and has taken her students to Ecuador, Costa Rica and Spain. She is currently living in Vermont with her husband Will, has two (perfect) children and two (less-than-perfect) dogs.
