BiographyI come from a family of avid readers, love reading international spy novels, murder mysteries, police procedurals, and adventure thrillers. Writing essays in school was something I enjoyed. I even kept a file of story ideas over the years.
Traveling is also one of my favorite things to do. My husband and I traveled Europe, Mexico, and many states within the U.S. In 2013 we took a serendipitous trip to Costa Rica. I couldn't find a fictional murder mystery that took place there, so I decided to write one.
I started writing Murder in Costa Rica the minute I returned home. As I was writing, I was following news from Costa Rica and learned about the real murder of biologist and conservationist Jairo Mora Sandoval. It seemed karma was telling me this story had to be finished. Viva Jairo Mora Sandoval.
I am a member of writing groups Northern California Publishers and Authors, Sister’s in Crime, and it's local chapter Capitol Crimes. I submit short stories to mystery magazines, and have started work on an amateur sleuth series set in Scottsdale.
A graduate of University of Arizona, B.S. Business Administration, I’m employed with the State of California, Department of Justice, Attorney General’s office where I teach desktop, professional development, business writing, and proofreading classes, as well as contribute to the internal Justice Journal newsletter.
